Abstract This study aims to analyze the influence of students' perceptions of the school environment on their interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 2 Sukorejo. A qualitative case study approach was used to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with one PAI teacher and five students, passive participant observation, and document analysis. The results show that students' perceptions of the school environment were generally positive, covering three main dimensions: physical (adequate and comfortable facilities), social (supportive relationships among school members), and religious (strong religious culture). This positive perception correlates with high student interest in learning PAI. The most dominant environmental factors influencing learning interest were teachers' interactive teaching methods, the availability of supporting facilities, positive social interactions, and school discipline and religious culture. This study fills a gap in the literature by integrating the three dimensions of the school environment and exploring learning interest as a key variable, beyond mere motivation or achievement. The practical implication is the need for a holistic approach to creating a conducive school environment through facility improvement, the development of innovative teaching methods, and the strengthening of a consistent religious culture. Keywords: School environment, learning interest, Islamic Religious Education (PAI), student perception, qualitative study.
