This study aims to describe the implementation of learning and the internalization of moral values through the classical Islamic book Tais?r al-Khall?q in shaping noble character (akhl?qul kar?mah) among male students at Pondok Pesantren Al-Basyariyah Pilangkenceng, Madiun. The book serves as a central medium for moral education that emphasizes understanding and practicing ethical principles in students’ daily lives. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach to explore the natural learning process and value internalization within the pesantren environment. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the head of the madrasa foundation, teachers (ustadz), and students. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while validity was ensured through triangulation of sources, methods, and time. The findings reveal that the learning of Tais?r al-Khall?q is actively conducted using traditional pesantren methods such as bandongan, sorogan, lectures, and exemplary modeling by teachers. The internalization of moral values occurs through habituation, advice, constructive discipline, and real-life examples reflected in daily activities. As a result, students show notable improvements in discipline, politeness, and responsibility, although some inconsistencies remain. This study concludes that learning based on classical Islamic texts effectively contributes to moral character formation and can serve as a reference for developing character education curricula in other Islamic boarding schools.
